Residents of independent living communities are typically able to perform everyday tasks—such as preparing meals or cleaning their home—though these services are often times offered.
Providence Place has an exceptional sense of community that is unmatched. Our building is unique in that we are located in the former Mother House of the Sisters of Providence. This building was completely renovated in 1999 and now has 119 apartments, all with full kitchens. In addition, we treasure our magnificent chapel in the center of our building—truly a hidden gem.
Monthly rent at Providence Place includes: two meals per day—breakfast and a chef-prepared lunch or dinner in our lovely Kingston Dining Room; all utilities; expanded basic cable; scheduled transportation; daily Mass in our magnificent chapel, and a huge variety of wellness, entertainment and enrichment programs. (Wifi and phone service are not included.)
Most are surprised at how affordable it is to live in an independent living community such as Providence Place. Included in our brochure is an expense comparison sheet that can help you figure out what you are paying now, in comparison to what it would cost to live here. And remember … worry-free living is priceless!
We offer a full schedule of trips and programs! Our residents enjoy exercise classes, swimming in our Olympic-size pool, daily Mass, painting classes, book clubs, entertainment, discussion groups, happy hours, birthday celebrations and so much more. In fact, our residents have a difficult time fitting in all that is offered!
Apartments become available at various times. If you think you may be interested in coming to live at Providence Place, we suggest you submit your application now (no application fee). That way when you are ready to downsize and enjoy the benefits of living in our special community, you have priority in choosing an apartment over others.
Because we are an independent living community, Providence Place does not offer assisted living services on site. However, if the time comes that a resident needs extra help, he or she can bring in outside homecare services to suit their needs. We are able provide a list of local agencies with whom we are familiar and recommend, if desired.
If a resident gets to a point where 24/7 care is needed, Mary’s Meadow (also owned by the Sisters of Providence and located just down the hill from Providence Place) may be an option.
Absolutely! Our 12-passenger van regularly takes resident to scheduled trips for shopping, cultural events and more. If you need a ride, say, to a medical appointment, our friendly front desk staff can help you make transportation arrangements. (Fees are generally $17-$22 round-trip, depending on the distance).
Family and friends are always welcome here! There is a guest charge for meals. In addition, we have a beautiful private dining room that residents can reserve for special occasions—and our friendly waitstaff is happy to cater your private meal for you.
Overnight guests can join you in your apartment anytime. In addition, we have two guest apartments that can be reserved for visitors who may prefer their own space. Guest accommodations are $50 per night and include continental breakfast in the morning.
We encourage you to visit so we can introduce you to our special community! Please call Laurie Hoey, Director of Marketing, at 413-534-9700 to schedule a tour. You won’t be disappointed!
